Suicide Epidemic:
Suicide is a leading cause of death for Americans ― and it’s a tragedy for families and communities across the country. Statistics published this week by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) show an overall increase of 25% in the number of suicides nationally. Closer to home, the rate of suicides in the State of Michigan has increased by nearly 33% between 1999 and 2016!
“Health and behavioral healthcare providers have an important role to play in suicide prevention so that nobody falls through the cracks,” said Anne Schuchat, MD, principal deputy director of the CDC, said at a recent press briefing. As a behavioral healthcare provider, River’s Bend PC is committed to providing our clients with the best preventative and therapeutic services, delivered by licensed and qualified staff, so that no client “falls through the cracks.”
