Maggie Sheppard, LLPC

Maggie is a biracial, queer music therapist and clinical counselor who brings her full, authentic self to her work. She believes deeply in the power of human connection, the resilience of the individual, and the healing potential of music. Grounded in cultural humility, compassion, and collaboration, Maggie honors each client’s unique story and lived experience. Her therapeutic approach is rooted in social justice, equity, and anti-oppressive practice.

She sees therapy as both personal and political—supporting clients in navigating life’s challenges while recognizing the systems that shape their well-being. Maggie integrates each client’s culture, community, and values into a tailored, strengths-based process that fosters growth and healing.

A Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) and Limited Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC), Maggie earned her B.S. in Music Therapy from Augsburg University and her M.S. in Music Therapy and Clinical Counseling from Slippery Rock University. She has worked across the lifespan in settings including psychiatric care, hospice, substance use recovery, and memory care.

Maggie’s practice draws from Human-Centered, Culturally Inclusive, and Resource-Oriented approaches, as well as affirming frameworks for neurodivergent and disabled individuals. She views therapy as a collaborative journey—walking alongside clients in exploration, healing, and transformation.
