Michelle Zoch, LMSW, CAADC, CCS
Michelle earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work with a minor in psychology and a Master’s Degree in Social Work (LMSW) from Wayne State University and she has been in clinical practice since 2011. Michelle’s practice has emphasized chemical dependency and mental health services, where she has earned a CAADC (Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor) and CCS (Certified Clinical Supervisor) state certifications. She has provided psychotherapy services for adults in inpatient and outpatient environments, focusing on substance use, mental health, trauma/PTSD, and co-occurring disorders.
Michelle has a passion for people suffering from substance use disorders and mental health challenges. She believes in the value and power of interpersonal connections to assist in cultivating personal resilience and recognizing an individual’s strengths for healing and transformation. Michelle provides a safe, non-judgmental and empathetic space, incorporating a strengths-based, holistic approach that focuses on a person’s identified goals and desired areas of improvement. She provides high quality, evidence-based therapeutic treatments utilizing various approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), group therapy, 12-step programming, with solution-focused interventions and biblically faith-based counseling, when desired.
Michelle believes that nobody is without hope, and she views life’s trials and challenges as an opportunity for growth, increased self-awareness and personal capacity, as well as stepping stones for healing and expansive wisdom for a better way of life. Sometimes we just need to entertain the thought of “what is possible,” to take the first step in our recovery journey.
