Jessica Hillen Cultivates Connection and Leadership with Compassion

Leading West Bloomfield’s Healing Mission
At the helm of River’s Bend PC’s West Bloomfield clinic is a leader whose approach is both structured and soulful: Jessica Hillen, LMSW. Since joining the organization in 2022, Jessica has transformed a modest office into a dynamic outpatient treatment center offering a full spectrum of behavioral health services, including individual therapy, adolescent programs, and specialized IOP or Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) care for both mental health and substance use.
Her impact has been nothing short of transformative. With a background spanning both inpatient and outpatient settings, Jessica brings deep clinical insight to every decision, and the kind of grounded empathy that fosters both staff resilience and client trust.
Three Pillars of Leadership: Connection, Consistency, Compassion
Jessica’s leadership is built on more than credentials, it’s built on values. With a Master’s in Social Work from Wayne State University and advanced training underway in trauma and addiction counseling, she centers her work around:
- Connection: Cultivating therapeutic environments where clients and clinicians feel seen
- Consistency: Creating systems and structures that support reliable, high-quality care
- Compassion: Leading with empathy while upholding clinical excellence
As Clinical Director, Jessica provides supervision, facilitates interdisciplinary collaboration, and ensures every program reflects best practices in trauma-informed recovery and co-occurring disorder care.
Trauma-Informed, Person-Centered Care, at Every Level
Jessica’s clinical toolkit is grounded in evidence-based modalities like CBT, motivational interviewing, and narrative therapy. But what truly sets her apart is how she honors each client’s unique lived experience. Whether facilitating a team discussion or guiding a client through crisis, she models what trauma-informed care truly looks like: attuned, empowering, and nonjudgmental.
Her areas of expertise include:
- Co-occurring disorders and addiction treatment
- Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization (PHP) program oversight
- Adolescent mental health care
- Clinical supervision and early-career mentorship
A Community Builder Beyond the Clinic
Jessica’s impact reaches well beyond the therapy room. She’s an active voice in community mental health education, volunteering with:
- Face Addiction Now (FAN) – Board member and speaker for overdose awareness and public education
- Grief Share at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church – Co-leader of a 13-week grief support program
- Oakland County Sheriff’s Department – Advocate for families of first responders
As the spouse of a law enforcement officer, Jessica understands the emotional toll of high-stress professions, and she’s building mental health programming that supports both first responders and their families.
Walking Beside Her Team and Her Clients
Jessica’s leadership style isn’t top-down, it’s shoulder-to-shoulder. Whether she’s mentoring a new therapist, debriefing after a crisis, or welcoming a client into care, Jessica shows up with presence, wisdom, and humility.
Her mission is simple, yet powerful: to foster spaces where healing is possible, people feel connected, and care is never one-size-fits-all.
