Bruce Goldberg’s NACoA Talk & River’s Bend’s Commitment to Community Care

A Summer of Healing and Connection

At River’s Bend, we believe recovery isn’t confined to a clinic room—it’s woven into everyday life. This summer, Bruce Goldberg, LMSW, ACSW, CAADC, SAP, amplified that message in an inspiring presentation for the National Association for Children of Addiction (NACoA) titled, “ACOA Education & Discussion Meeting: Recovery – What Does it Mean to You?”

Mr. Goldberg has been in practice for over 29 years and is co-owner of River’s Bend PC. He treats adults with substance use and mental health issues through individual, family, and group therapy. In addition to co-facilitating the Adult SUD IOP and leading the Adult Early Recovery Group, he offers intervention planning and consultation, and presents regularly across the country. About NACoA and Our Shared Mission

River’s Bend is proud to collaborate with NACoA, the only national membership organization dedicated to supporting children of parents with substance use issues. Like River’s Bend, NACoA believes in proactive, community-centered support to prevent cycles of trauma and empower families.

NACoA’s expansive reach offers resources, professional training, and direct support across the U.S. and globally through affiliates in the U.K., Germany, Poland, Brazil, and New Zealand. Together, we envision a world where no child faces the pain of family addiction alone.

Safe and Fun-Filled Summers for Families Affected by SUD

In his NACoA talk, Mr. Goldberg emphasizes how summer can be a powerful time for families to reconnect, relax, and build meaningful traditions together, especially those affected by substance use disorders. From creating family rituals to opening space for casual conversations, his message focuses on the healing potential of everyday moments.

Summer Activities and Mental Health Tips

Mr. Goldberg offers creative and joyful ideas for summer family engagement—from museum visits and gardening to splash pads and bike rides. He also previews a list of 10 summer mental health tips designed to keep recovery strong during the warmer months.

Why Personalized Recovery Care Matters

Mr. Goldberg’s presentation reflects our guiding philosophy: no client should ever feel lost in the system. At River’s Bend, every individual is seen, heard, and guided by professionals deeply invested in their well-being. From the first intake to long-term stabilization, our team walks alongside you.

If your family is looking for structured support, explore our Substance Use Disorder Intensive Outpatient Program (SUD IOP) or Adolescent IOP to find a service that meets your needs. We know recovery takes more than clinical expertise; it takes community, compassion, and connection.
